Robert Kawika Sheer likes to say that he walks into the frame of his shots with his body and soul. He then takes his body out of the frame and leaves behind a bit of "the soul of humanity" on the negative in the form of a spirit shadow. The viewer shouldn't be able to tell the race, creed, color, religion or politics of the figures... instead, one hopefully sees the "commonality of the human spirit". |
